Our team provided all mechanical and electrical engineering services for the Janet Wallace Fine & Performing Arts Center, a 180,000 SF facility at Macalester College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The project included remodeling of the 57,000 SF complex to create refreshed space for the Commons, Art Gallery and Music Building. The Commons features a two-story gathering space in the center of the complex for all of the arts on campus. The Commons also includes new Art History classrooms and an entrance for the new Art Gallery. The new multi-function Art Gallery includes special lighting for students, faculty, and guest shows. It can also accommodate large gatherings, receptions and dinners.
The Music Building renovation improved the lighting, acoustics, and HVAC throughout facility. The centerpiece of the Music Building is the Mairs Concert Hall, which includes modern lighting and HVAC systems.
