We were chosen by Graco manufacturing, a fast-growing company, to design mechanical and electrical systems for a major expansion and remodel of their existing building. The new building would mainly consist of high-bay space for research and development and manufacturing, with automated testing, production lines and assembly equipment.

Our design aimed to achieve high reliability and flexibility for the mechanical and electrical systems, to minimize down time and shorten assembly line reconfigurations.
We also included an ESFR (early response fire suppression) system in the fire protection system, to enhance flexibility and avoid in-rack sprinkler heads in the storage shelves. We used a siphonic storm drain system in the plumbing system, which improved clearance height inside the building, lowered storm drain pipe sizes to save construction cost, and greatly reduced below grade storm water piping. We added generators to the electrical systems to test the manufactured products with different voltages and frequencies from other countries.
